About the Book

Melodies for Enduring the World is a searing bilingual (Farsi–English) poetry collection that bears witness to war, exile, love, and ecological collapse, translating contemporary Iranian experience into a global lyric of survival. Writing from within Iranian literary traditions yet addressing a global readership, Mohsen Hosseinkhani transforms historical violence—airstrikes, borders, surveillance, patriarchal control—into intimate lyric moments of love, longing, and fragile hope. Through Tahereh Forsat Safai’s meticulous English translations, the book becomes a transnational literary object: a work that resists cultural isolation, challenges Western narratives about Iran, and asserts poetry as a mode of survival, witness, and collective memory in the twenty-first century.
