Blue Cactus Press and loyal.industries are gathering at King’s Bookstore for RUNTIMES_ Reading & Celebration—an evening at the edges of possibility, celebrating Lorenzo Bécquer’s Runtimes through writing, speculative worlds, and literary experimentation.
Lorenzo will be joined by Ambalila Hemsell, Rae Miqueli, and Sasha Victor, each sharing work of their own before Lorenzo closes the night with a reading from Runtimes in English and Spanish. Music will find its way into some of the readings along the way.
At the center of the celebration is Runtimes, a strange, genre-bending work that moves between lunar colonies and digital worlds, surveillance and ancestral memory, intimacy and vastness. It’s a book interested in what happens when our familiar boundaries—between past and future, human and machine, body and consciousness—start becoming less certain.

Come hear writers you know, discover work you don’t, and gather around books, other worlds, and new possibilities. Copies of Runtimes, along with books and related works by the featured writers, will be available for purchase throughout the evening.
