About the Workshop:
Participants will have opportunities to explore written and verbal accounts of ancestral, cultural, and land-based narratives rooted in lived experiences; practice using workshop tools to examine, name and uproot harmful biases embedded within those narratives; and draft new stories/narratives that lead to personal empowerment and self-actualization. Workshop tools include storytelling (written & verbal), drafting, intuitive inquiry, and reflection.
This workshop is open to all, and is geared toward anyone interested in using storytelling as a means of conveying history, and creating community in the present. This session will be a writing focused training, and will welcome newbies, and long time practitioners alike. Participants will:
- Have time to write during a series of writing exercises.
- Leave with tools to develop a writing practice and notes for future use.
