It’s time for the Write253 Summer Programs 2018!
This summer-camp style program is designed for Tacoma students who love to write and love to have fun while writing. We have two camps this year: Summer Writers for youth in elementary school and Downtown Poets for poets and spoken word artists in middle and high school. Students of all skill levels are welcome.
The camps will be opportunities for young people to explore writing, performance, art making, and community building by working with some of Tacoma’s finest writers and teaching artists. Each day will consist of writing activities that will strengthen academic performance, explore artistic expression, and create safe, fun avenues for students to think critically about themselves and the world around them.
Lunch and snacks will be provided. So will all materials and supplies. All you need to do is show up!
Pre-registration for the Summer Writers elementary school camp is coming soon. If you have questions, please email Mary Fox at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Space for both camps is limited, so RSVP as soon as you can!
These camps are completely free, thanks to funding from Rotary 8 Tacoma and Graduate Tacoma, and the generosity of the Washington State History Museum. If you would like to make a donation to the camp, we are specifically in need of food donations. Snacks, boxed lunches, and beverages work best! Just email Mary or Michael to find out how you can get involved, or visit our DONATE button to make a monetary contribution to the camp.
