Destiny City Comics is hosting a release event Machete Squad and The ‘Stan, two graphic novels about the War in Afghanistan and the real life experiences of the men and women who served.
Writers Brent Dulak and Kevin Knodell and Artist Per Darwin Berg will be on had for a meet and greet and to talk about the making of Machete Squad, about Afghanistan, comics and anything else you might want to hear them talk about. After the event there will be an after party at Doyle’s Public House. More details to come.
About the guests:
Brent Dulak is a U.S. Army veteran and author. He was stationed at Joint Base Lewis-McChord before attending and graduating from University of Washington’s School of Medicine. He’s currently an emergency medicine Physician’s Assistant in Las Vegas.
Kevin Knodell is a local journalist who covers conflict and culture. His work has appeared at Playboy, Soldier of Fortune, Vice, The News Tribune, Crosscut and others. He is a former contributing editor for War Is Boring and currently writes the Acts of Valor comic series for Naval History magazine.
Per Darwin Berg is a comic artist and writer working in Seattle’s indy scene. He volunteers weekly with the Bureau of Fearless Ideas, a writing center for K-12. His favorite hobby is comedy but he’s not that funny. His other comics work includes the self-published Glitch Anthology and upcoming Earthbound.
