Head to Seattle on January 23 to catch performances by Samuel Snoek-Brown and Jason Arias.
Jason Arias will be reading from the short story collection Momentary Illumination of Objects In Motion. This book tells stories of life and death, identity and race, change and resistance to change. Sam Snoek-Brown will be reading from his story collection There Is No Other Way to Worship Them. It’s an eerie, mesmerizing collection of short stories set in Mexico and Texas. Each of the collectionโs nine stories are woven together with themes of violence, mysticism and failures in the pursuit of love.
Jason Arias’ lives and works in Portland, OR. His writing has appeared in multiple magazines, anthologies, and Lidia Yuknavitch’s The Misfit’s Manifesto. His debut short story collection Momentary Illumination of Objects In Motion was released October 1st by Black Bomb Books.
Samuel Snoek-Brown is the author of two chapbooks (Box Cutters and Where There is Ruin), therecipient of a 2013 Oregon Literary Fellowship for his novel Hagridden, and is currently touring with his new short story collection There Is No Other Way to Worship Them. He teaches writing and literature at Pierce College.
