Book Reading/Q&A with Author of ‘So You Want To Talk About Race’

“So You Want to Talk About Race,” author Ijeoma Oluo is coming to Tacoma during Black History Month to share her tools for communicating and navigating conversations about race.

The City of Tacoma and University of Puget Sound’s Race Pedagogy Institute will jointly welcome Ms. Oluo and the community to an event from 6-8 p.m. Feb. 28 at the University of Puget Sound Rotunda of the Wheelock Student Center (1500 N. Warner St.). The event and parking are free and open to the community. The event will also feature a raffle of five of Ms. Oluo’s books.

Ijeoma Oluo was named as one of Root’s Most Influential African Americans in 2017, Ms. Oluo has developed a practical primer on how to explore the implications of race in the workplace and in American society and take actions that lead to a more equitable future for all.
